Panic Attack Broken Note
By
During Organ Solo B.
Yes. Harmonix did it again.
During 0:13, 1:29, and 1:48, after the yellow note and before the red one.
There is another broken note on an on-disc song. And, of course, it has to be on of the last tier songs, especially the HARDEST one. And not at the very beginning. It’s just randomly in the middle.
Truthfully, it’s not that bad of a broken note, but it’s still a pain when you miss it.

It seems misplaced …
It seems misplaced for sure. Should be on the bass beat instead of what appears to be 1/32 after it or so… 32nd I’m guessing because it’s not even easy to see on breakneck

Just like Next to You in RB1, it’s supposed to be like that. It’s not like New Wave. You can just sorta hit it with some practice.

I have to agree …
I have to agree with someguy913 also, sorry Pheonix :P. Mike Portnoy plays in a very unique style and tends to break his tom hits away from his bass drum beat.
Examples of this are evident and plentiful throughout the solo in “Constant Motion”
Being a big Dream Theatre fan myself, he does similar things in most of their songs, it’s what makes him stand out as such a unique and exhalted drummer.

I personally have …
I personally have to disagree that it’s broken. You can clearly see that it’s after the bass note, so there’s no sneakiness like in NtY or New Wave, and it seems to follow the song. Portnoy uses that cymbal fill to transition from a triplet pattern to the normal 4/4 pattern in Gtr Solo 1a. His hands do the fill in that 4/4 pattern while his feet are still keeping the triplet pattern from the organ solo. So it’s not surprise the blue doesn’t (and shouldn’t) exactly line up with the bass.
