Do people with social anxiety have higher intelligence than those without shyness?
By adminI have it, and I think I’m pretty darn smart. Even my therapists have told me that. I have online friends with social anxiety, and they’re some of the smartest people I’ve ever known in my life.
I think the author, Silvya Plath, had similar issues, yet she looked like she had a huge I.Q.
So is this sort of thing true or is it just coincidence?
VIVA LA RAZA!
I have social anxiety real bad. Not sure about my I.Q. I’m extremely disorganized and I think I’m not the greatest in school, but I get above average grades.
But everyone says I’m extremely gifted in music. My sister is too, and she was also very shy.
I think I practice so much because of my shortcoming with my social life and not being the most brilliant student, I practice for hours a day and try to accomplish things most kids my age cant. And I think thats the only reason why Im respected by teachers and peers now. Before I started practicing like crazy and improved alot, I felt very ignored by the majority of people at school. I like being acknowledged as the best at something. My problem is, when I see someone my age is better than me at music, I tend to take it harshly. Even if they had been playing alot longer than me since childhood.
So really, I need to change my ways. I feel like I value my worth as a being a good muscian, which is bad.

I have social anxiety. and I’m not sure of my IQ either.. but I do seem to be a deep thinker. I do good in my studies but not great.
Sylvia Plath was one amazing poet. Her poems convey deep and strong feelings and one of my favorite poems is Mirror .. also her poem Daddy.

well you cant judge someones intelligence by there personality.
i mean im really out going i don’t have a shy bone in my body and im pretty freaking smart
and ive met alot of out going people that are really smart the thing with outgoing people is that we don’t really show our smartness like we don’t tell people about it we know we are smart but we don’t like bragging about it.
so i dont think thats true i think anyone is capable of being really smart.
