I agree with you. Ten years is a long time to be taking the same medication. You probably built up a tolerance for that medication so it might have stopped working as well. Talk to your doctor about your anxiety, stress and nerves. I hope you will feel better soon. Please take care of yourself.
References :
Yes, anxiety, stress and nerves can do that.
As in IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

I've been learning about this at the Radiant Recovery website
http://www.radiantrecovery.com

If you visit there, check out "sugar feelings" too.
You don't have to suffer so much.

Good luck with this!
References :
http://www.radiantrecovery.com

Hi. Absolutely, stress and anxiety can cause diarrhea. I suffer from both, and when i get really nervous or stressed it always happens to me. As soon as it starts, i try to take some Imodium, and that will usually help it slow down. If your anxiety is acting up, that's probably why it's happening. I don't know that changing your meds is really necessary. Mine gets worse when i'm more anxious too. Hope you feel better soon, hugs :-)
References :
ABSOLUTELY, anxiety, stress and nervousness give you frequent diarrhea. I had that before, I took tons of anti-diarrheal meds (Immodium) and many others (e.g. cholestryamine) since I was in junior high, senior high and throughout university. Mine got worse after gall bladder removal surgery 3 years ago. Now I am diarrhea free after taken Chinese medication...yes, those yucky dark bitter meds...non stop..for few months. I am now enjoying all kind of food even french fries and deep fried food.
References :
personal experience

Anxiety can cause diarrhea. But changing medications should only be a part of the treatment. Try to address the underlying cause of the anxiety.
References :
http://www.collectivewizdom.com/BowelMovementsIndicateYourHealth
