By admin

Is diarrhea one? I worry all the time and am kinda stressed. I get diarrhea like twice or so a week and it seems like it happens on days that I am worried about stuff.

Yes also irritable bowel syndrome is stress related.

Yup. Anxiety can definitely upset your digestion and appetite. Anxiety causes muscle tension, and your intestines and bowels are a muscle. If they are tense, it can cause you to have diarrhea, or constipation. Loss of appetite is also common due to stress hormones being released into your blood stream that suppress appetite.

When my anxiety is very bad, I might have diarrhea 3 or 4 times a week, and eat as little as one small meal a day because I’m simply not hungry. Stress hormones can really ravage your body.

I hope you get better, go to your local mental health center, they specialize in this, and trust me I was misdagnosed 8 times and gave up and it kept getting worse and worse. It got so bad that I went to a doctor to check out my heart because I thought I might be getting ready to have a heart attack, this checked out fine, then I would have them so bad that I ended up going to the ER 4 times because it had progessed so bad over time that I actually thought I was dieing, the ER referred me to my near by mental health center, I let her know all my symptoms, then let them know all the meds I took in the past and how none of them worked, I let them know how it progressed to get so bad, and they set me up with the doctor there and he knew exactly what was wrong because this is a place that specializes in stuff like this. He perscribed me something for Anxiety called Xanax, and I haven't had an episode since! I thank God for it too! Good Luck

Absolutely. Our bodies when under severe or acute stress have a fight or flight response that kicks in. It is our body’s way of protecting itself. Think of people who can lift hundreds of pounds to save a life in an accident, but in their ordinary lives could not lift a feather.

Part of that response as gross as it sounds!!! is emptying out our system to prepare for battle so to speak and that causes diarrhea. We also lose fine motor control - our fingers cannot grasp small things, our heart rate increases, our pupils dilate to take in more light to see better and our body tries to keep all of its blood in our core - preparing to fight what it perceives as a threat. Some people have anxiety disorders where they feel all the things that people listed here but there is no threat and it is a very, very difficult thing to manage.

Over-the-counter medicine can help for the short-term but finding and dealing with the sources of your anxiety is the best way to go. Talk to your doctor, try journaling, talking to friends and family or exercise to vent off that anxiety and stress.

Yes!

Go consult a doctor or your psychologist. You might want to consult your parents or most trusted friends on your problems. Explain it to them and tell them that you have much difficulty with them. They should be able to help you. Because each person has a unique chemical make up, the type, number, intensity, and frequency of anxiety symptoms will vary from person to person.
