30 weeks tomorrow. Starting to get symptoms of anxiety but, sort of worse?
BySo this is my first baby and all the way through the pregnancy i have been pretty anxious being an anxious person and everything. I have been feeling nausea, but nothing worse then the feeling of anxiety nausea. But i have been getting stomach aches abit worse then the braxton hicks cramps. Its not like contractions as they aren’t at regular intervals and everything its literally like bad wind pain. Could it just be that i’m very worried about the labor? Thanks.
I am 30 weeks pregnant and getting anxious about labor too. Before I got pregnant I had panic attacks sometimes. It was the first time in my life experiencing them and it happened over a few months and theni got pregnant and they stopped and now Im worried they are going to come back. I find they happen when I am in situations I can’t easily get out of like being in traffic or getting my nails done like it freaks me out to know Im not in 100% control of a situation so as you can imagine giving birth is totally freaking me out.
I just keep telling myself that people do this all the time and that it wont last forever it will be over in hours and then we will have a beautiful baby! I try and remind myself that being anxious is not good for the baby and that it will all work out. I scheduled a tour of the hospital where I will be givign birth so I can be "more prepared" at least I think I will be! Just try and breathe and calm down and tell yourself its all worth it!!

im 31 weeks with my second i had allot of pain with both and most of it is normal but you could always call your dr or midwife (they get madder if you don’t) midwives are better because they don’t make you feel like you are wasting their time call someone take a shower drink something don’t think about it and if it doesn’t stop go to er if no one else can see you today. good luck

I am also an anxious person and was recommended by another anxious friend to try hypnobirthing - she did it and said she had an almost painless quick birth - with NO drugs and it also completely changed the way she handled situations.
I have started doing the training from a book - Marie Mongans book - and it is life changing in the way I have viewed this, my second pregnancy. Don’t ask about the labour - not got there yet! I would say if you cannot afford to do a cours, at least think about doing the rainbow relaxation and visualisation techniques to bring about calmness. You can buy the books and CDs second hand and on Amazon probably:

PS if you don’t calm down, yes you could go into premature labour.

If you’re prone to anxiety, yeah, you’re just setting yourself up. First time CAN be nerve racking. Just take deep breaths, picture yourself holding your beautiful baby. Cuddling up to it. It is so worth it in the end. Get lots of rest…you’ll need it. And once baby arrives, be sure to sleep as often as he/she. There’s nothing wrong with sleeping in. It doesn’t make you lazy or a bad parent. Child birth IS a big deal as is carrying the baby for 9 months. You owe it to yourself to rest. You’ll be fine. People have baby’s everyday.

i def had this problem when i prego. i was so nervous all the time. the thought of labor freaked me OUT!! i absolutley dreaded the day i had to do it. what helped me was, i would take a bath, literally everynight. i also tried my best to keep a "take it as it comes" attitude.
honestley though, labor was a breeze and i would do it all over again in a heartbeat. all the worrying was for nothing.
good luck!!
