What are the odds of another form causing my anxiety?
ByWell I recently tried a birth control and it made my anxiety rise like crazy. I have a doctors appointment because I really need to stay on birth control. What are the odds of another form of birth control causing my anxiety to be just as bad as the first birth control I tried?
It’s really hard for me to say or predict this. If one form of birth control caused you to experience increased anxiety, it is likely that other forms will have a similar effect. Part of this though can be just because you are worrying about it…a lot of anxiety related to medications happens because you go on some medication, and it makes you feel differently, and then you start worrying because you’re feeling different.
There are ways to naturally reduce anxiety without medication. I wrote an article on this:

You may find it helpful.
In the end though, I find it is helpful to avoid medications unless absolutely necessary. Do you need to stay on birth control because you are sexually active, or for some other reason? There are quite a few reasons to avoid being on birth control. Some people just don’t react well to it.
Good luck though regardless of what course you try! My main advice is to try to stop worrying about it. If you focus on general ways to lower your stress level, you’ll probably feel better regardless of which course you choose.
