Anxiety is a psychological state characterized by psychosomatic, physiological and behavioral patterns usually associated with situations where the subject faces actual threats. In other words, anxiety reaction is kind of response to a stimulus that cannot be identified; it is fear of the unknown.
There may be several causes. Stress is one of those and probably most common. Under this condition, a person begins to doubt his abilities to live up to expectations and cope with stressful situation.
Another reason may be facts or events, apparently unrelated and consequently harmless but, on subliminal level they get clustered, triggering corresponding response. In such conditions, symptoms usually disappear as soon as the person comes to know the reason.
Sometimes just to know becomes the reason to feel. For example, a number of freshers in medicine really experience symptoms of the disease they’ve read about.
Anxiety disorder is the extreme condition and the person experiencing it needs counseling.
Anxiety may be a tool in our survival kit built into our genetic make-up. It can prompt one to greater actions for ones security and well-being.
When you have palpitations, uneasiness and, in some cases, perspiration without organic basis and external stimulus, there is likelihood you are having anxiety reaction.
