Social anxiety… Any of you have it?
By adminAny of you have it? It’s just so difficult at times. I want to be with people…. but it causes anxiety being around people that I don’t know. Even if I like the person, it’s a bit hard.
I’m going in for hypnotherapy. Heard it works wonders…. Then I can move on with my life…. and talk to people with ease.
It’ll feel so refreshing/relieving.
I’m not sure if you want to disclose this over the internet but have you had any past experiences that would lead to to have social anxiety?
I have experienced it, yes. In fact I know why it happened to me. It was because growing up people called me ugly and all these other mean names. And even in college, yes I do hear it from a random person on occasion (sign of immaturity).
But you know what? I can’t change the way I look and that’s just the way it is. But how I got over it is I just focus on things that make me happy like: getting good grades, being with friends, maybe someday having a rat companion..etc. Sometimes I get social anxiety and it shows…and people can sense it and it’s a total turn-off, trust me.
Whether you are talking to someone new or an old friend you have to put out a positive vibe. (smile, make eye contact, seem interested in their lives) ya know. Because if its negative thinking thats holding you back you can fix it in a snap.
hope this helped! And hope you find relief soon!

Yeah I guess. I get nervous around people because I don’t know how they’re going to act. I don’t like dealing with people who are unpredictable. When I’m talking to someone I always wonder if something bad happened to them that day and if they’re going to take their anger and frustration out on me.

I, too, have social anxiety. The idea of talking with people - new or old - causes me to become nervous. I lose my breath, my heart races, and I get headaches. So I completely empathize with what you are going through.
I have never tried hypnotherapy, and I’m not sure it will "cure" you, but, hey, it’s worth a shot. Hopefully it will be able to take the edge off the nervousness.
Good luck and hang in there. Remember, you are not alone.

Got it last year, senior year of high school, a girl said her friend liked me and because i dont trust people and think they’re always lying to me or playing games, i got bright red in the face and ever since then i get red almost always in social situations, after a year now, i just started taking pills, it seems to be working.
