Can caffeine and loads of sugar intake cause anxiety?

By admin

Okay, I suffer from anxiety but what I want to know is can caffeine and high sugar foods make it worse. I being serious, I have been drinking coke cola for a about 7-8 years im not kidding. I also eat a lot of chocolate. I think its fine because I don’t put on weight but does it cause anxiety problems to worsen??

Chocolate has caffeine it in. Yes, if you’re having anxiety issues than the coke and chocolate is definitely contributing to it.

I think the caffeine will greatly increase your stress. It does it to me whenever I drink a lot of coffee.

I think cafeine can cause you to be aware and awake about every little thing which then makes you mre stressed out and the more stressed out you are the more it cotributes to your anxiety. U can keep dunking soda and eating chocolate but try eating chocolate less and drinking soda less. When u drink/ eat less of something it will make u not crave it as much anymore. Hope I helped :) also try other exercises and things to help with your anxiety don’t let it go unnoticed because it culd cause severe problems :)

Both caffeine and sugar are stimulants and anything that revs you up can be overdone. The more you consume any stimulant, especially if it has some short-term enjoyment associated with it, the more your brain becomes accustomed to that stimulation and the more it craves it. The result, increased anxiety in those periods where the stimulant levels are lower. You get jumpy and nervous.

Of course some people seem to handle caffeine more effectively than others and don’t seem to suffer many ill effects, but I think for the majority of us, we have to be careful not to overdo it.
