What Anti-Anxiety / Antidepression Medications will help with Weight Loss?
By
There is no anti-anxiety or anti-depressant that consistently makes people lose weight. Some people do have some weight gain after beginning such drugs. It’s a package deal: all psych meds have side effects. The real issue will be your lifestyle including activity and healthy eating habits. There are no short-cuts for this. Additionally, better activity levels will help to reduce depression and anxiety.

I honestly don’t believe there’s medication for anxiety or depression that helps curb appetite. Usually when patients suffer from depression they have a lack of appetite so the medication increases it.

Topomax will, but it is more of a headache medicine. Every medicine is different in every person, so I can’t say which would work for you.
