social anxiety disorder help?
By admini have social anxiety. i haven’t done much at all for the past year, nearly two. i’m coming up 17 and i have no job and no school qualifications, so i won’t be able to go to college. i want to change so badly. but everything i need to do to change involves things i’m anxious about. can someone help me? i already get therapy. is there anyone on here with S.A that has been in this kind of situation, if so, what did you do to get through it?
I was an important Manager of a large Ladies Health Club in my 20’s. I could sell a membership to anyone who passed thru the front door. I was outgoing, gave training sessions in front of several people, and had no fear. One day I was in the middle of a Sales presentation and out of the Blue a Panic attack occurred. I had to excuse myself from the room. My Life became difficult. I was afraid to speak in front of a group. I tried Xanax and it didn’t work. I had to work twice as hard to do the things that used to be easy. I had a Social Phobia that led to full fledged panic attacks. The answer for me was PAXIL. It was tough to get on it because of drowsiness but if you start very slow you can make it to a therapeutic dosage. I now am outgoing again and No longer have Panic attacks. Ask your Doctor and Parents if you can try this. I have never stopped taking it and I am a healthy 50 year old now. Please don’t get discouraged on this medication. It takes a few weeks to build up in your system, but it could be THE answer to your problems. Then you can go out and do the things you want so badly to do.

If you want to do something enough kid it will happen no matter what obstacle is in your way. If things haven’t changed you just don’t want it enough, meaning you should put more effort into thinking what are you afraid of and trying to make sense of it. You are in control of yourself and if you want to let this continue to ruin your life that’s your choice. No one can help you but yourself. Think positive.

only you have the power to change yourself. i would stop looking on the internet for answers and start directing some of the questions to yourself, what can you do to address this issue - face your fears, get out in public, get a job, join a club, do something.
