Is weed okay to use to help my social anxiety?

By admin

I know it won’t cure it, but…

I had a friend who tried that and he said it makes it worse. Try it if you want but I’m sure you’ll end up agreeing.

I’m pretty awkward socially too. It has a lot to do with my trouble hearing people (hearing loss/genetic) so I wouldn’t encourage drugs, just something to give you energy.
You should of seen me the first and only time I got high, I thought everyone figured I was a closeted homosexual. Yes, it was that bad.

Weed is ok to use for any reason … including just wanting to get high.

It’ll cure what ails you, no matter what the alcohol-loving masses say.

No, there are better ways to deal with SAD than with weed. You should try counseling and exposures. Start out with baby steps first though. Start by just going to a business if you can and just ask about job applications and the jobs in general and build on from there. Or just start our with something slightly uncomfortable, but bearable and try to talk. If you can’t deal with it then just leave the situation before it turns into a negative situation. Keep pushing through the struggle

Yes, just don’t take it overboard or experiment with other drugs like alchoal, tobacco, salvia, cloves, prescription medications, caffeine etc…

Drugging yourself up isn’t the answer, especially not with a drug that is currently illegal.

Either way, any substance abuse, legal or otherwise, would be only a crutch.

The only way to get over social anxiety is either through therapy or willpower. Put yourself in situations that you are uncomfortable with, but can still handle, get yourself used to that situation, and then move on to another situation that makes you uncomfortable, etc etc etc.

Small steps.

Used to have a severe social phobia, coupled with OCD. Could not even order fast food without rehearsing in my head what to say to the cashier when ordering. I could not even eat in front of people in my school cafeteria due to the phobia. Through doing what I mentioned above, my phobia is practically nonexistent now.

Well I suppose if you want to belong to a secret group
that hides away in dark rooms and listens to trippy music,
then yer go for it.

But I wouldn’t recommend it.
As it amplifies whatever feelings you have to start with.
So unless you want to be ‘hyper’ social anxious…
then don’t do it…

No because it can’t cure it… your social anxiety will still be there when you get off the weed…

try meditation technqiues (youtube) or prayer… or simply repeated exposure to carefully constructed positive experiences…

you could also try toning down your social circle and associate with people who have lower standards / expectations
