Is there such a prescription drug that ISN’T an anti-depressant, that STILL helps with anxiety?
ByI’d like to see if I can take a non-anti-depressant pill/drug that I can take for my anxiety. I am too scared of the idea of becoming "suicidal" or getting addicted.
Not wanting to sound like a backstreet pharmacist, but a type of drug called Beta Blockers may be of benefit to you. These drugs are mainly used for heart problems but have the positive side effect of relieving tension and can safely be used as such.
I took Beta Blockers for a few months when I used to suffer from recurrent migraine and because of their tension-relieving properties, the amount of migraines I had was slashed from 2 - 3 attacks a week to one attack in six weeks!
Obviously, any medicines need to be prescribed by a doctor and supplied by a pharmacist, so if you think that you may need such drugs, have an informed discussion with your GP first.

A low dose of propanalol, a beta blocker is used to control anxiety or panic attack. It can be tailed off gradually so it isn’t addictive. Propanalol blocks the release of adrenalin.
