Is there any known medication that can cure anxiety / sensory issues?
By
There are many medications used to TREAT anxiety (im not sure exactly what you mean by sensory issues). Medications, however, cannot cure anxiety. For that, you'd have to speak with a psychiatrist or therapist for counseling and therapy. Most people, however, choose to treat anxiety with once-or twice daily pills.

Most medications for anxiety have a reduced sensitivity as a side effect.

well i wouldn't say it's a cure though, but sort of a pill that would alleviate anxiety. curing, in its strict sense, would render you not normal or not even human at all. anxiety is a normal phenomenon within our body. without it, you wouldn't be able to address or respond to environmental stimuli such as an upcoming final exam. there are times though that anxiety escalates to levels of panic. you would experience an "anxiety attack". yes there are medications that would treat such occurrences- we call them anxiolytics. these pills need a physician's prescription since these are not over-the-counter kind of drugs. i highly suggest that you consult this matter with a physician first. examples of anxiolytics are buspirone HCl ( Buspar) and lorazepam (Ativan). one thing i learned in nursing school is a simple way of treating anxiety without medications: BREATHE IN THROUGH YOUR NOSE AND BREATHE OUT THROUGH YOUR MOUTH and repeat until you are calm…cheers! i hope that helps!
