Is Reiki or acupuncture better for chronic anxiety and phobias?
ByI have always been anxious but it’s starting to get worse and messing with my daily life. I really want to help this but am very against taking medications. I am hoping someone has experience with either of these practices for treating anxiety. I would be open to any other natural approaches as well.
I am a Usui reiki master… I don’t have any personal experience with acupuncture, but it works along similar lines to reiki, in that it works through blockages in your energy meridians and channels.
I would imagine that both are excellent therapies for working through anxiety, and your choice should be based on which feels the more appropriate for you. Reiki is perhaps more "gentle" and may require more treatments than acupuncture.
I have also suffered greatly from anxiety in the past, and I found that reiki, which induces a great state of calm, was invaluable to me in dealing with those issues. I can definitely vouch for it!
Perhaps try a session of each therapy… whichever feels better to you will be the one that will give you the most benefit…

Deep breathing and meditation are more likely to help than Reiki, which does nothing, or Acupuncture, which is mostly placebo effect.

acupuncture by far will be more beneficial and have longer lasting effects. try to find a community clinic if money is a problem as these will allow sliding scales and treatments are usually $25 or so. if your skeptical, the best thing is to try it just once, and you can see for yourself how well it works!!
