Can difficulty concentrating or focusing be a part of my anxiety disorder?
ByLately I’ve been having SO much trouble concentrating on things. I can’t read books or watch movies that have a lot going on or a bunch of characters, because I end up missing something and end up totally confused. It’s really REALLY starting to bother me. I can’t do anything I used to find entertaining without getting confused, and in all honesty it makes me feel stupid.
I currently see a therapist for help on my generalized anxiety disorder, but I don’t take any medication.
Yes, tell your therapist.

Stress and anxiety can make concentration difficult. When you recognize that you are having difficulty concentrating, do you try any coping skills? Remove yourself from the situation, if you can. Learn how to take deep cleansing breaths. Recognize how your body is tense and allow it to relax. Use guided imagery. Ask your therapist about biofeedback. You could use medication to help get a handle on things so these suggestions could also be used. Don’t let it control you. GL

Have you ever talked to your therapist about ADD? It’s very treatable.
Good Luck!
