Anyone know a good book to help someone without depression/anxiety understand depression/anxiety?
ByHello everyone.
So I know my dad is trying to understand what depression is but he just doesn’t seem to understand that if you had a reason to be depressed and anxious it won’t be a disorder. He’s a very black and white kind of thinker like if he can’t see it it can’t exist, I hope that makes sense. Depression runs on my mums side of the family and I have had it about as long as I can remember. I know he doesn’t mean to but he makes comments that are quite hurtful about some family members with depression to me, he seems to forget that I’m depressed and take meds as well. Anyway I find it a bit hard to be around him and feel like I have to be careful what I say, but I love my dad and don’t want us to grow apart. Is there any way to get him to understand that depression and anxiety are a real illness and not just some make believe crap. Is there a good book out there that might help him understand.
Thanks a lot, please be nice.

instead of a book, try moving to Washington state where you & family can smoke weed. just make sure everyone smokes what they call ‘cheese’. it gives you a smile that never feels you……but u think a book will help……start by looking online at amazon.com….tons of books there and they rate books with views on each…..good luck,,,,,,,aj
