I have a lot going in my life and I feel like the stress and anxiety is consuming my life. When things go wrong or I even think about the possibility of them going wrong immediately I get a severe migraine resustant to any medication and severe stomach cramps. I’m avoiding dealing with several situations and people because I’m scared to deal with my problems and issues for fear of letting them down or because it’s more than I want or can deal with right now. Any advice?

Dear One, I am recommending therapy for you. Problems will persist unless you take control over them and get some counseling. Anxiety is a result of not tending to your issues. Your issues have surfaced and there is only one thing to do. Accept them and address them. You can deal with it now and you must deal with it now. Take good care.

How do I prevent anxiety attacks?

Posted by: admin | Comments (1)

I get a lot of anxiety attacks, especially when I am doing school work. What can I do to prevent these, or to get rid of them when I am having one? I used to do jumping jacks, but a friend told me thats the worst thing you can do, since your heart is already racing (due to the anxiety attack).

Please help!

Various biofeedback techniques have been employed and they are sometimes successful. The most certain approach however is to see your physician. There are many medications available to treat panic attacks. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless. JR

I’m getting a job soon but even just thinking about it, my heart is going insane.
I’m nervous about the interview, about training, working, everything.
How can I not let my anxiety get to me while I’m there? I REALLY need this job.
Thank you for any help!

Don’t think about it. Stay natural, have a good sleep, a good breakfast, and wear appropriately, smile, and i don’t think anything much can go wrong.

I have always been anxious but it’s starting to get worse and messing with my daily life. I really want to help this but am very against taking medications. I am hoping someone has experience with either of these practices for treating anxiety. I would be open to any other natural approaches as well.

I am a Usui reiki master… I don’t have any personal experience with acupuncture, but it works along similar lines to reiki, in that it works through blockages in your energy meridians and channels.

I would imagine that both are excellent therapies for working through anxiety, and your choice should be based on which feels the more appropriate for you. Reiki is perhaps more "gentle" and may require more treatments than acupuncture.

I have also suffered greatly from anxiety in the past, and I found that reiki, which induces a great state of calm, was invaluable to me in dealing with those issues. I can definitely vouch for it!

Perhaps try a session of each therapy… whichever feels better to you will be the one that will give you the most benefit…

I never go out the house am extremely terrible with directions i have constant thoughts of killing myself also iam a recluse and find it extremely difficult to communicate with people i tend to get annoyed if someone speaks to me i’ve even been told i hide my head under the blanket when a person walks in the room but i don’t notice it and i have problems with crossing the road aswell and struggle with crowds also and have a very slow self-esteem i’ve been on meds before but they haven’t helped from the doctors hes gave me the strongest he has but i tend to sleep more during the day and only go to do in the day i’ve never had a girlfriend and i don’t have many friends either HELP!?

Hey, I’m 20 years old too, and a female. I have social anxiety along with depression too. I want to say that you’re not alone with this. I’m getting down a lot too. I talked to therapists, even a doctor who claimed that "Lexapro"(social anxiety pills) and other pills have been helping her. I took Lexapro, they worked for me for only two years until I graduated from high school when I was 18…and then they just stopped working. I’m still living with my parents, and I have NO friends. We move around way too much…and even though I can get out of the house I also have panic attacks. I have low esteem too, and have a hard time talking with people. All I can say is don’t kill yourself. It’s not worth it, think about your family that will be hurt to see you’re gone. Also you could ask your family or someone who really cares so much about you to help you get out of the house step by step. You don’t have to go anywhere TOO big with lots of people. Like maybe you can go to a small family store with your family and try to get used to people from there.(You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to) It’s hard for me to do that at times too, but it’s a start to get used to people. But yeah, pills won’t always help with social anxiety or depression. Sometimes it makes it much worse…because I’m experiencing horrible withdrawals since I stopped taking Lexapro. But yeah I understand your pain. I’m trying to get through this too.

I have to go back to work and I will be in for 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

I’ve spent a lot of time with my dogs before and I am worried about separation anxiety with them. Every time I leave the house they just sit on the windowsill and give me guilty eyes. When I come back they still seem to be there.

Does anybody have any tips to help them deal with this?

And for all you people who say I shouldnt be leaving them so long. Well if I don’t go to work I’m not able to pay my bills so sorry I’m not as rich and well off as you all.

My dogs are well cared for, have a loving home and get walked twice a day. Which is a lot more than some other peoples dogs do.

When ~I am home they get a lot of attention too.
No offence Rosemari but your answer didn’t really contribute.

One way to help them overcome separation anxiety is to go as though you are leaving, immediately return and give them a treat. Repeat this several times and they will realize that you will be back. Do not worry about having to leave them, many people have to work and leave their dogs at home.

At least your dogs have a good home and a caring owner so try not to worry about them. Sometimes leaving a radio on low will keep them from feeling lonely while you are away.

does xanax help with anxiety?

Posted by: admin | Comments (6)

can xanax help with anxiety

Absolutely. But take with great caution as Xanax is very addictive and the withdrawals are not easy.
Many people think that it’s the amount of a drug that makes it addictive, but that’s not correct. Even with a small dose of Xanox, like 0.25 or .05 once a day, after a few weeks you will notice a very unpleasant feeling when you discontinue.

twice before iv had lumps in breast, it was just my hormones, i went to Dr’s yesterday there’s another lump once again im worrying but can not help it im very scared, i had a late dinner dew to my husband working late about 2 hours ago, then i got a pain in my left side of my chest like a long pin going in and coming out my back, went to bed about 30 min ago the pain keeps coming and going it’s irregularly but its no more than every 10-15 min, its not excruciating just uncomfortable any ideas should i phone Dr’s or is it just anxiety ? it only lasts for a couple of seconds

Anxiety, I have had breast cancer and there is no pain with the lump. That is the bad thing about cancer.

My cancer was eight years ago and my lump was very large, today’s medicine is a whole lot better.

Pleased that you are checking in with your doctor, keep doing so.

is this true can this eliminate it ? could it really help ? any advice ??

A well rounded diet might, that includes sufficient vitamins/minerals, but going vegan wouldn’t help any more than that. Exercise definitely helps too.

I know it sounds weird, but let me explain. I suffer from multiple anxiety disorders. For some reason, whenever I have an attack or breakdown I can suppress it. I’m pretty sure that that is bad for me, suppressing it. Unfortunately I have bottled up pretty much everything since kindergarten, and am now finally on the edge of learning to release it now that I’m a junior in high school. It may seem like I’m answering my own question, because I have a vague idea of what’s going on, like when I’m at school and get a panic attack, it’s usually caused by a lack of options, a feeling like I’m trapped, etc. I am not going to do bad things (i.e. - alcohol, drugs, hurting myself or others) - that’s out of the question. I guess what I’m really asking for is advice. I realize that all of this is most likely teenage hormones crap, but I still can only partially control it. I’m so confused sometimes… I also have very few true outlets, one is writing music, the other is writing books / short stories. Please, some one help me. I can’t stand being so tortured. Everything is just building up.

Thanks for your consideration,

-Don

P.s. - You should also be advised that I suffer from a severe case of paranoia, so I might take your answer the wrong way. If I do, I’ll attempt to work things out before I react. And If I do react, and it turns out that’s not what you really meant, keep in mind that I’m excessively paranoid and suffer from tourettes, ocd, bipolar and mild depression.
I already have a therapist, and am on some meds.

Since you alredy have a therapist and are on some meds, maybe you can get some guided meditation or biofeedback cd’s. Biofeedback is the only thing that worked for my panic attacks. It kind of teaches you how to hypnotize yourself. Very effective, no side effects. Good luck
