If you’re experiencing frequent anxiety attacks, your doctor may want to prescribe an anti-anxiety medication or an anti-depressant medication for short term use. These can be helpful until you learn more effective strategies to cope with anxiety attacks. Sometimes just knowing you have an anti-anxiety pill in your pocket "just in case" can reduce the likelihood of a panic attack. Don’t let panic attacks destroy your confidence. Take the necessary steps needed to free yourself from the power of panic.

I hate the place I work, I hate my job, it is soooo stressful and all I asked for was a week off, and they said they couldn’t give it to me, so, I put my 2 weeks notice in. Well, actually I simply told them I will not be showing up on August 9th–13th which is the time I had requested off, so, I said, I guess you better hire someone to replace me. I feel so good about it, but the only issue is, I don’t have another job, so, I am feeling a bit of anxiety at the same time, but, the relief definately outweighs the anxiety as I have faith God will provide a new job for me. So, why do I feel this way?
I did the same thing at my work, they wouldn’t give me leave so I gave them my resignation.
I did it because they wouldn’t give me leave that I’d requested 9 months in advance though and the policy is 6 months in advance. Because another girl was having that month off who wasn’t even in the same role as me they wouldn’t give it to me.
Requesting leave now for August seems extremely tight to me I wouldn’t even atempt to ask for that at my old job, I’m assuming your work has a different policy and works a different way to mine. Was this leave for something urgent? Surgery? Funeral? (PS at my work one girl wasn’t allowed to take leave for her father in laws funeral who she was very close to because they said it’s not immediate family)
Anyway, whether you did the right thing or not in terms of asking for leave, you’ve given your resignation now and it sounds like you did the right thing in terms of your self and your own life. If this job was giving you so much grief and your so relieved to be rid of it, this leave situation was probably the push you needed to get out.
Life is too short to in a job you don’t like. Too many people waste years and years on the wrong job because they are too scared to change. I’m not sure what industry your in or what qualifications you have but I’m sure you will find new work soon enough. Anxiety is a perfectly normal thing to feel at this time, that fear and anxiety is what keeps people in jobs they hate for so long, be happy you’ve broke through that and ride out this anxiety as a normal part of the transition, let it help drive you to your next carrer move.
Maybe this is a time you should really sit down and think what you really want to do with your life. Do you want to go back to the same kind of work? Is there a carrer direction you’ve always been attracted to but never had that push to seek out? Maybe you want to start your own business? (and take leave whenever you like).
ANXIETY PROBLEM NEED HELP!!!!!?
Posted by: | Commentshi i have been having severe anxiety attacks for several months including crying, panicing, phobias, and obsessive thoughts. I have tried to explain it to people but they basically tell me to get over it. I don’t know what to do anymore! I know a doctor is probably the best solution but i really would rather not go. Do you have any advice?
Asking for help is not easy but it definitely sounds like you should talk with a counselor/mental health professional. They can help you understand and deal with the anxiety you are experiencing so you can begin to feel better.
You can also contact the Boys Town National Hotline at 1-800-448-3000. We have trained counselors available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We can also assist in finding resources in your local area. Please take care of yourself and we hope to hear from you soon.

Hypnosis for anxiety relief - does it work?
Posted by: | CommentsHi all,
just want your personal experiences with this. Have you had hypnosis for anxiety-related issues, did it help, how many sessions were needed before you felt a difference etc…
Hi blase~
That’s a very good question, and the answer could speak to a good number of people.
Hypnosis is extremely helpful for anxiety and stress relief. As a Hypnotherapist, I see people for this sort of issue all the time. The number of sessions it may take for a person to minimize or do away with the discomfort of excessive stress and anxiousness will vary, depending on the person and their individual willingness and internal resources.
Hypnotherapy is a process, a systematic approach that helps a person to do what they want to do in the best way for them. For stress and anxiousness, we normally begin with three or four sessions, one per week. The frequency of sessions will depend on the person, and how pressing the issue may be. If the client experiences a more intense level of anxiousness, we may even do a couple of sessions in a week. This is deeply personal work that really must be addressed on an individual basis.
That said, my clients feel much better by the end of the first session. Many report that they feel a level of relief that they have not experienced for quite a long while. In addition to this, I get reports that they sleep very well, the night following a session. In the course of our work together, I help them to access their own resources, and we may utilize a number of other appropriate modalities, as well. And I teach my clients to do self-hypnosis, usually from the first session, so that they can have something to turn to for help, right away.
If you have any questions about this, please feel free to call or email. (510) 834-6726
Peace and comfort,

I’m having anxiety, and depression, and have been on these… help?
Posted by: | CommentsHey everyone, need a little advice if anyone has been down this road, has a kid who has, or whatever.. You get my drift.
I have been experiencing anxiety/depression since I was about 11, and it’s been kicking up again, I’ll give you a time-line, and a bit of info for each.
I don’t know what to do anymore.
Age 11 - Put on Lexipro. Went off at 12, was a decent drug, helped me out a lot.
Age 14 - Put of Zoloft for 6 months. Wasn’t bad, made me really tired, and more anxious.
Age 17 - Put on Catapres for Anxiety and depression, and to help with my slight insomnia. Made me REALLY depressed, and i slept for 17 hours.
Age 18 - Put on Ambien ( what a mess.. no more sleeping aids after this one )
And also put on Klonopin. ( Damn.. this stuff screws you right up. MAJOR loss of motor ability, and thought process. )’
Should I talk to my Dr again? I have a job that demands my best physical performance, so I can’t be on anything that dumbs me down. Have to be aware.
To make this even more worse. I’ve been hearing voices, or really really deep thoughts, that don’t feel or sound like my own…
I’m losing it =[
Someone, please.. good advice sincerely needed….
Isn’t the answer to this pretty obvious? Go on Lexipro again. It worked for you once, why should it not work again? I’ve been on that medication myself for clinical depression, and it also worked very well for me with no side effects.
Go see your doctor again. Mention that Lexipro was the only medication that you felt has worked well for you. Also let him or her know about all of your other concerns, like the voices.
Best of luck.

therapy and medication and someone you REALLY love you can rely on to be there to help you through episodes and won’t judge you for that.
Where can i speak to a therapist or get help for anxiety and depression online?
