can feeling sick and not being able to eat be caused by anxiety, stress etc?
Posted by: | Commentsi cant eat anything. ive gone three days without eating anything proper.
only had a few biscuits here and there and each mouth full i took made me want to throw up.
even when i was brushing my teeth i felt like i was going to be sick.
can it be caused by caused by anxiety, stress etc?
It certainly could, but of course there are many other explanations.
Does therapy for anxiety really work; if so, how?
Posted by: | Commentsof course, i would prefer answers from people who have actually experienced it…
almost everyone I ask suggest that i get over it myself… but how exactly is that done? I have tried telling my self not to worry, and this works sometimes, but most of the time I get nervous during unexpected situations, and wont be able to calm down unless i go away from them…
Therapy is nothing more than teaching you a set of techniques to use to overcome anxiety. Yes it works, but you only get out of it what you put into it. Drinking and taking prescription meds never works, in fact it will only make anxiety worse when you aren’t drinking or taking meds. Why not learn to overcome it by your own power.

questions about peole who suffer from anxiety, nightmares or mild ocd. please help?
Posted by: | Commentswhat are thelives of such people who suffer from anxiety, stress, nightmares and mild ocd. does it damage relationships. does stress in a relationship cause more anxiety and fears that in turn cause more stress for the relationship making it troubled. does this end up being a circle with no end?
how do such people cope? are they good people. can they lead a failry normal life?
is it ok to be friends with such people?
I would consider myself as one of these people, though I’m not an extreme case. I live a really normal life and I have a great family who I’m really close with. It doesn’t damage relationships at all, it’s more of a self-damaging problem for me. The anxiety takes its toll on my energy and how well I can sleep. It causes me nightmares sometimes.
But like I said, it doesn’t affect relationships… It just makes me more needy. I’m constantly needing reassurance, but the more I am aware of it, the more I can fight it and try to keep my mind at ease. I tend to internalize everything and when it builds up I find myself crying alone a lot. I overreact a lot and I tell my close friend and family my problems. They always reassure me that I’ll be fine and they bring me comfort. My relationships are my security and comfort, they aren’t troubled at all.
Yes, it is okay to be friends with such people… The only problem is, they can become dependent. They need security and if you get close, they are going to seek it from you. The problem is self confidence… and close friends can help them become more dependent on themselves. They make great friends because they are extremely loyal. Because of their anxiety, they worry about losing their friends and they will do anything for their friends in order to feel secure in the relationship. It’s hard to explain.
They live normal lives… they just internalize all their problems, which isn’t healthy.

anointment of the sick for severe dizziness and nausea caused by anxiety?
Posted by: | Commentsor is the anointment only for really physically sick people?
Anxiety has many causes, including outside influence. Yes, the prayers of others (along with the rite) can help in those cases.
But the person afflicted needs to find the source of anxiety. It could be lack of sleep brought about by a chemical imbalance in the body causing depression. The person needs to seek professional help as well, especially if that could be the cause.
It seems anxiety is always linked with depression, is it always caused by a serotonin imbalance and thus always needs to be treated with antidepressants or could it be a result of some other physical problem, such as over production of adrenaline or something else? I have been suffering from chronic daily anxiety but i have no symptoms of depression whatsoever so i am confused as to the best method of treatment. thank you for any help!
I have anxiety too and have had it for quite a while. I don’t have depression either - you can have both, but not necessarily. I have been getting professional help for many years and it really helped me. I’m sure every case is different, but for me - I have some meds (lorazepam) I take when I need them, but don’t need to take them very often. I like to carry them around as a "crutch." I found that just having them with me helps me get by. My Dr. told me about some books that have been helpful too. I am not cured, but it it very manageable now. There is also a good resource here http://www.adaa.org/ They have some good info.
