questions of anxiety and symptoms?

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

so are like the symptoms of anxiety are they like when you feel you are gonna die do you feel like your gonna stop breathing so i went to da doctors and i guess im doing good an everything i just get like anxiety and i feel im like going to die and it scares me because i dont want too die im only 16 so can i please know some very good ways on getting rid of it and what causes anxiety and how to stop thinkin ima die

I've had anxiety attacks myself, so I know how you feel.
One minute, you're just fine and then out of the blue, you feel like you can't breathe and that you're going to faint.
Although your heart IS racing and pounding and you DO feel like you're about to lose consciousness, you have to remember that you're actually completely fine and healthy.
When it starts to happen, just close your eyes, and start to take deep breaths- in through your nose, out through your mouth. Count slowly in your mind from 1 to 10.
Don't worry, it will pass. And remember not to let little things stress you out either.

what side effects (and other additional information) do i need to know? personal stories and other details will really help. thanks!

Zoloft is pretty good (see here http://bisina.info/buy_zoloft_en-us.html ) but try to do without medications - you cannot eat drugs all life long.

Anxiety attack relief?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

Is there a drug or something I could take to take away the attack. I only want to know because I'd like to have something as back up so to speak; for when/if I have a bad attack. I've only ever had 2 really bad ones ( and I mean bad, I thought I was going to die). I just want something that I could take if I was ever to have a really bad one again.
thanks

Valium is obviously the best medication for this but unfortunately doctors rarely prescribe them due to the chance of addiction and also the cost. Antihistamine pills (Chlorpheniramine maleate) are available over the counter and are a quick fix if you are feeling panicky as they will slightly sedate you. If you are in the UK ask for Piriton. (for hay fever lol)

quote from Wikipedia: 'Although not generally approved as an antidepressant or anti-anxiety medication, chlorpheniramine appears to have these properties as well'

I have been having attacks for the past 7 days in a row… I have some pain killers and Im worried that it will make it worse? or will it help me?

Missy,

Don't let the pills be the permanent solution.

For 3 years I had panic attacks and each time I literally thought I was going to die. I didn't tell anybody about this either. Then, one night, my boyfriend found me hyperventilating in bed and rushed me to the hospital. There, they told me it was a panic attack. They gave me tranquilizers (but I didn’t want to get addicted to sedatives) and the name of a therapist that I really liked. My therapist told me about this program:

http://TheBestListOnline.Com/cure-panic-attacks.php

He really shouldn't have told me about this program because it cured my panic attacks and I no longer needed to see him.

I kept my appointments with him anyway because I liked talking to him and he also noticed how much more relaxed I was since the panic attacks stopped.

Anyway, hope this helps. Cheers,
Martha

Adhd/Anxiety different treatment?

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

I am going to try not to write a book..
I have a 12 year old son, after many battles of not medicating we are now using meds. It works a little, however he is so moody and up and down. Has anyone been on an adhd med and on an anxiety med? If so, did it work?

Please no comments on the "natural" way - i have been down this road for 10 years and it didn't work.

Please don’t put your children on Adderall, I’m 19 and i’ve been treated with psychostimulant since I was 7 years of age. Not only do amphetamine based medications have a much higher abuse rate and more adverse side effects, in my opinion they do not work as well compared to the Methylphenidate medications.

Ritalin is a much safer treatment to start on, not the slow release of course.

This is coming from a person who has been treated with every pill known to man, I graduated in the top 5% out of 190 students in my year level. My father also grew up with ADHD.

All behavioural medication will cause mood swings. The coming down usually starts with feelings of irritability, very abrupt when asked a question, short tempered and almost no tolerance when something annoys them. This can take 30 or more minutes to pass.

Towards the end of the coming down, there is a brief period of withdrawal, they may appear very gloomy, best to just leave them alone until it passes. Then you are back to the hypo kid.
Tell me if I’m wrong about the coming down, I’m trying to remember from my childhood, there are slight variations in the different meds.

Now, the ride up, from when you first give them the tablets. Feel free to question my next statement, its rather hard to try and describe what its like at that age.

Behavioural meds are meant to calm your kids down, right?
The meds raise awareness, give the ability to maintain high levels of focus, and maintain a level of concentration by lowering impulsiveness. If I’m relaxing in front of the television and i take my medication, i am filled with an urge to do something, you feel compelled, motivated, all of a sudden your senses have just exploded into a state of optimal focus, from nothing.

What would a boy of 12 do with every single nerve impulse in his brain firing away, in a state intended for learning or performing tasks that demand absolute focus.
His brain is all fired up, with nothing to do.
It’s hard to get a picture across, or a description in any sense of what this feels like at his age.
Everything in his body is set to go, he has never felt this sensation, and more importantly what does he do with a mind stuck in overload for 2 hours?
What I’m trying to get at is, this “Anxiety” is the medication.
“why am I feeling like this, what am i suppose to do, what do i do”
He needs to learn how to use the medication, give him a purpose. Just letting him round around the house would confuse the crap out of him, scary? Ye.

If you are at all interested in showing your son how to use the medication just send me an e-mail, i could probably offer you some techniques to cut back on the stresses of dealing with ADHD kid.

How to cure social anxiety disorder?

Posted by: admin | Comments (17)

I'm going to make this fast. I'm a very quiet person. I don't like to socialize too much. I don't like making friends very much and much prefer to stick by myself and do things independently and alone. So I prefer it that way. BUT, I am also shy. A lot of introverted people have no problem speaking up in public when necessary, they just prefer not too. The problem is I have shyness AND am introverted.

Anyway I have problems engaging in simple social situations. For example I dread going into the office at school and see it as a tremendous burden. I have trouble looking people in the eyes and also when I have to hand small items to other people I'm afraid they ill see my hand shaking. I know this is really pathetic, but I would just like to be able to communicate with people when necessary. I don't want to be sociable, I just want to know how to be able to be confident when these skills are necessary (e.g. going into the office at school.) Thanks.

i used to cover my dik with my sweater and secretly jerk off in class, that got my courage up
