My friend was recommended for a 2 week DARPA (navy) intensive program, she gets panic attacks and refused the treatment because it would stress her out so much. What are the consequences of that?
It should read DAPA not darpa. She already has a doctors letter of reccomendation for discharge due to her panic attacks.

If these panic attacks interfere with her duties, she will be getting a discharge. Whether it's medical, or disciplinary, will depend on her CO's recommendation.

I have heard of hypnosis (I don't really want to waste my $ on that), then there is therapy/counseling (of course). Have you heard of any methods that work?

Therapy (CBT based) has been scientifically shown to be effective in most cases. There are also many medications that can help take an edge off while you are going through therapy. Talk to your primary care doctor, and ask for a referal to a psychologist.

I have been going through a lot my whole life and I finally have an appointment with a psychiatrist on Wednesday but it's really making me nervous. I am starting to have doubts on whether or not I should go. Should I still go or should I try and beat this depression and anxiety on my own ? What are things I can do on a daily basis to make myself feel better ? Any advice ? I feel like I should go but I have anxiety just thinking about going .

Take a deep breath and go to your appointment. Nothing ventured , nothing gained. Proper diet and exercise will help as well.

My son is 13 months old, he has a brother on the way =) (due June)…I'm wondering if him having a sibling will help with the crying and fits he has when we go places.

How do your children change with a sibling?

He is just at that stage where being away from you for any amount of time sucks for him. He will eventually out grow it if you use the right techniques such as saying I will be back in awhile and when you come in say "see its been awhile and mommy is right here".

A sibling might help but I am sure he will out grow it before the baby and him are bonded.

questions of anxiety and symptoms?

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

so are like the symptoms of anxiety are they like when you feel you are gonna die do you feel like your gonna stop breathing so i went to da doctors and i guess im doing good an everything i just get like anxiety and i feel im like going to die and it scares me because i dont want too die im only 16 so can i please know some very good ways on getting rid of it and what causes anxiety and how to stop thinkin ima die

I've had anxiety attacks myself, so I know how you feel.
One minute, you're just fine and then out of the blue, you feel like you can't breathe and that you're going to faint.
Although your heart IS racing and pounding and you DO feel like you're about to lose consciousness, you have to remember that you're actually completely fine and healthy.
When it starts to happen, just close your eyes, and start to take deep breaths- in through your nose, out through your mouth. Count slowly in your mind from 1 to 10.
Don't worry, it will pass. And remember not to let little things stress you out either.
